Phorest alternative from DACH — leaner, German, more affordable

Phorest is the UK market leader with ~9,000 salons (mostly UK/IE/US/AU). Full POS, marketing suite, advanced reports — priced accordingly (€120-230/month) and complex. If you operate in DACH and don't need a POS suite, you pay for features that stay unused.

EazyBooking is booking-only, DACH-first, from €59/month — focused on what you actually need.

What sets EazyBooking apart

Four concrete differences that matter

€70-170/month cheaper for comparable booking features

Phorest starts at ~€120 (Lite), Standard ~€170, Premium ~€230. EazyBooking is €59. Over a year you save €700-2,000 — for comparable booking features. If you don't need POS + store, Phorest is an expensive feature stack.

DACH-first instead of UK/IRL-first

Phorest is headquartered in the UK/IRL, with DACH as a secondary market. The UI is built for English, support runs on UK business hours. EazyBooking is DACH-first from day one — native UI, Frankfurt servers, German-language support.

Apple calendar fully integrated

Phorest's Apple calendar sync is limited (often just ICS subscribe). EazyBooking offers native two-way sync with Apple, Google and Outlook — appointments hit your stylists' iPhones instantly, and private events automatically block booking slots.

Booking-focused without POS bloat

Phorest wants to be your entire salon IT — POS, marketing, store, reports. If you already have a till or want booking as a standalone, you pay for unused features. EazyBooking is booking-only, lean, and slots into your existing tool stack.

Frequently asked questions

Switching from Phorest — what you need to know

Is it worth switching from Phorest to EazyBooking?

If you mainly use Phorest for booking: yes, clearly. On Phorest Lite (~€120) you save €60/month = €720/year. On Standard (~€170) you save around €1,300/year. If you actively use Phorest's POS + marketing suite, switching only pays off when you redistribute those features (separate till, Mailchimp/Brevo for email).

Can I export customer data from Phorest?

Yes. Phorest provides a GDPR export (legally required) — a CSV with all customer data and appointment history. EazyBooking imports that via CSV. A realistic migration takes 2-4 hours including service setup.

What if I use Phorest's POS features?

EazyBooking is booking-only. For POS we recommend SumUp Solo (~€30/month) or Lightspeed Retail. Combined with EazyBooking at €59 you're still at €89-129/month — cheaper than Phorest Standard/Premium, and you get specialised tools instead of an all-in-one compromise.

Does EazyBooking offer a marketing suite?

Not at the depth of Phorest Boost. EazyBooking ships Smart Recall (automatic reminder emails 28 days after an appointment), email templates and a customer database. For complex marketing automation we recommend Brevo (formerly Sendinblue, from €19/month) or Mailchimp alongside.

How quickly can I switch?

EazyBooking setup takes 30 minutes: services, opening hours, staff, custom domain. Data migration from Phorest takes 1-2 hours via CSV. A complete switchover is realistic in half a working day.

How does Apple calendar work with EazyBooking?

Native CalDAV integration — an appointment created in the EazyBooking admin lands instantly on your stylists' iPhones, and a private event on the iPhone automatically blocks the matching booking slot online. Two-way, no ICS-subscribe delay. Plus Google Calendar API + Microsoft Graph for Outlook — all three.

What if I run salons internationally (UK, US)?

EazyBooking is DACH-focused. For pure UK/US salons Phorest is more established. If you're DACH-HQ with a small UK/US offshoot, you can still use EazyBooking — the EN locale covers international customers, but we don't run marketing pushes outside DACH right now.
